Soy and Patrick had a beautiful wedding at Victoria in the Park in Mount Prospect, Illinois and we are honored and excited to share their special day with you. Enjoy and please feel free to share some comment love!
It was a semi windy day with a dramatic sky or in other words, a perfect day to get married. Soy and Patrick flew out from New York to celebrate their ceremony and reception at Victoria in the Park Banquet Hall. They had family and friends come from different parts of the states and even from different countries such as South Korea! Soy made her own wedding gown from scratch and it was incredible. It was strapless and a creamy golden color. The top part of her dress down to her mid thigh was covered in beautiful beading and fit her body like a glove. The bottom part was poofy, see the photos below. Her bridesmaids dresses were a golden color with lacey fabric that matched the theme of the wedding perfectly.
Patrick had a super fun group of groomsmen. We think they all had superhero powers, from looking at the pictures below what do you think?
After Soy's and Patrick's first look, we had a windy portrait session at Busse Woods Forest Preserve. Despite the wind we managed to create a beautiful flowy veil on Soy.
Their ceremony was very intimate and Soy's brother was their officiant. It was also the one time exception that Soy's brother approved Soy and Patrick to share their first passionate kiss as husband and wife:)
After the ceremony Soy and Patrick had a Korean Paebaek ceremony. This ceremony is a representation of the joining of two families. Soy and Patrick entered the ceremony in beautiful traditional ceremonial Korean wedding attire called hanbok. Patricks parents were seated in front of the table that was filled with an assorted amount of goodies and tea. It started with Soy and Patrick bowing down deeply to the parents and then kneel as Patrick poured tea for the parents. Once both of the parents had some tea, they share advice, wisdom and good wishes for the Soy's and Patrick's future. Lastly the parents threw dates (symbolizing girls) and chestnuts (symbolizing boys) which Soy and Patrick had to catch with a silky scarf. The number of dates and chestnuts caught symbolizes how many children Soy will bear. They caught enough dates and chestnuts to have two football teams!
